things i heart: halloween movie time.

"things i heart" is my new friday series on the blog.  hope you enjoy!

it's october 1!  and that means...31 days of halloween can begin!

which, in turn, means halloween movie time!  i must confess that i am pretty much the opposite of a scary movie girl (i had to stop watching law & order: svu because it was giving me nightmares...fail), but i can handle spooky-ish movies, ones that get me in the halloween spirit.

bel0w, my list of favorites:
 {i'm kicking off the season by watching this tonight!}

there's also a healthy dose of cheesy halloween movies that i can't help but watch each year.  you can find most, if not all of them, on the disney channel.  and that's all i'm admitting!

what are your favorites?!

i'm planning on a pretty quiet and productive weekend around here.  and i think i might just have to try this mulled spiced cider recipe from coco + kelley while i watch some of these beauties:

Mulled Spiced Cider

2 quarts fresh apple cider (in a pinch, jarred from the grocery will do the trick)
1/2 cup firmly packed light-brown sugar
1 teaspoon whole cloves
1 teaspoon whole allspice
2 cinnamon sticks + 10 for garnish (1 per mug)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 dash nutmeg
1 1/2 ounces rum (sometimes I substitute Spiced Rum for extra flavor)

With cloves and allspice in a teaball, cook all ingredients in a crockpot on low 2-8 hours. Stir occasionally to dissolve sugar. Or to make quicker, warm in a medium size pot on the stove on low heat 20 - 30 minutes or until your concoction is simmering & the sugar is melted. At this point, add 1 1/2 ounces (Bacardi) Gold Rum per mugful when poured. If pouring into a thermos, combine and pour at the end; just don’t cook the rum. Serves 10.
